I have a special place in my heart for the ACLU. The American Civil Liberties Union, a group of lawyers that have nothing better to do than sue people for the most ridiculous asinine reasons.
They are now suing on behalf of Anwar al-Awlaki, his son Abdulrahman al-Awlaki and Samir Khan. If you don’t know Awlaki was a senior talent recruiter and motivator who was involved with planning operations for the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda. That’s right folks he was a senior al-Qaeda operative who was involved in planning the killing of innocent Americans. Samir Khan, was editor and publisher of Inspire magazine, an English-language online magazine published by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), in which he authored such intriguing articles as “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom.”
What else do these two have in common other than al-Qaeda? They were both killed in a drone strike in Yemen, and the were both American. Yes they were Americans who decided that al-Qaeda and killing Americans was their chosen way of life. Now the ACLU is suing on behalf of their families. Seriously? Giving American Civil Liberties to people who actively denied those liberties to innocent Americans.
Just like the UN the ACLU is a group that has out lived its usefulness and needs to go. Suing on the behalf of terrorists, that’s a new low in any lawyers book.
