Strict gun laws are not the answer

Three American servicemen, one six year-old little girl. These are the names of those who died in Aurora Colorado.

Aurora Colorado, a city with some of the strictest gun laws in the country. If those laws did not protect these innocent victims, 3 of which we know for a fact gave their lives so the ones the love can live, how will enacting stricter laws country-wide stop this from happening again? How will taking the guns away from law-abiding citizens like Samuel Williams who stopped a robbery in Florida this week by having his legally owned fire arm, and shot two gun wielding robbers as they entered an internet café.

Law-abiding citizens do not cause crime, they prevent crime. Criminals will not enter a place where guns are allowed, they look for soft targets, places like the theater in Aurora which proudly proclaims its Gun Free Zone status. Criminals look for easy targets, they look for unarmed citizens because they know they can show a gun and do what they want.

A government that wants to un-arm it’s citizens is not afraid of criminals, that government is afraid of its citizens. Why else would they use fear at every turn blame the gun for the action of the human that controls it? A gun can not do anything with out some one controlling it, and last I looked about 85 million law-abiding gun owners didn’t commit a crime last year let alone on Friday night.
